Recently introduced to this activity
I am trying to master the art of flying model  helicopters. I was introduced to a group of local gentlemen who  made me welcome and gave me lots of advice. They make it look easy but
its not however it is great fun and given time I hope to master the art.

My MODELS

After trying a couple of cheap and cheerful two channel helicopters I found that these
are very limited  if you can get them to fly they tend to do their own thing. The way to go is to get somthing more stable and learner friendly
The Twister Bell 47 is popular with my friends
and they fly them with skill.I hope to follow their
example. The twister isnt a toy like the others so lots to learn or could be expensive.

There are several models which are contra rotating four channel and this is a good  leval to start.

The Bell 47 and Esky Lama

An exception to the cheap and cheerful is the Picco Z

palm sized helicopter these tiny models are fun.

They have  polystyrene body and will bounce off anything without damage they are charged from the transmitter and the control is infra red

My MODELS

I have now got A Twister Bell Medivac  pictured above  and  below
this model is certainly not a toy and is lots of fun to fly
Many thanks to Will for setting it up for me ,its working fine.
A famous helicopter as depicted in the TV series MASH.
Excellant for beginer like me.

I have now purchased  a Honeybee King2 Its veryquick to respond and is certainly a big leap from the more stable 4 channel. However I am gaining confidence  and I will  keep practicing at low altitude.
Having  got it I am quite eager to fly it properly but wise enough not to rush.
