The Square at the bottom of the Rock.
Gibralter is fortified and on entering through the main gate you are greeted with this
lovely scene.Seeing red telephone boxes and English police uniforms seems strange
In the square is a replica of the canons used to protect the town the barrel sloping downwards.
This was because the walls were so high they were designed to shoot down on the enemy

Further on up you can visit the Caves The Rock is riddled with them, but the main ones are open to tourists. In one you will find a theatre still used today and famous for its acustics.
You will also find the Apes on the upper levals,although they do from time to time wander down to the town they are discouraged.No one in Gibralter will harm them and they mainly stay around feeding stations and tourist spots.if your pocket has a zip keep it closed they will help themselves if they think you have food
